MASBATE: This is supposed to be the geographic center of the Philippines, but it’s also one of the wildest and poorest places in this poor and unruly nation. Here I met widows of murder victims, with fish-less fisherfolk and destitute gold miners. I also met a governor who is nice enough, but may need to get more acquainted with her own province.

SORSOGON CITY – Nananatiling positibo sa red tide toxin ang Katubigan ng Sorsogon Bay kung kaya’t mahigpit pa ring ipinatutupad ang shellfish ban sa buong lalawigan.

Ayon kay Francisco Dollesin, marine biologist ng Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Sorsogon, sinabi niyang positibo pa rin sa presensya ng pyrodinium bahamense ang mga katubigan at laman ng mga shellfish sa lahat ng lugar na sakop ng Sorsogon Bay base na rin sa mga isinasagawa nilang meat and water sampling.
