Large tree branch crashes down on 2 DENR female employees in Sorsogon; 1 critical, another fractured bone

BULUSAN, Sorsogon ( — Two female employees of Sorsogon office of the Department of Environment and National Resources (DENR) are in critical condition at a hospital, the seriously injured needing blood, after a large branch of a tree went down crashing unto them.

The accident happened 10 am Friday, August 18, while the two DENR personnel were monitoring a section of Bulusan Lake, Barangay San Roque, Bulusan, this province.

Badly injured were DENR employees Carol Berdin of Monbon, Irosin, and Baby Jean Navarro Estinor.

Berdin was rushed to a private hospital Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after suffering injuries on the forehead and crown of the head. In a related development, Type AB blood is needed by victim Berdin and anybody interested to donate must contact her sister Cherry on mobile no. (0919) 259-2296.

Estinor suffered a fractured bone on her left arm.

Personnel of Bulusan Natural Park headed by Jimmy Candia responded immediately and brought the accident victims to the hospital. Bulusan Mayor Michael Guysayko informed Bicol Today that he had sent a rescue team. []
