SORSOGON CITY – Robert “Bobet” Lee-Rodrigueza, candidate for Governor, lays down his plan for improving health by adding more facilities, and boosting up capacity building of students in the Community College, aiming to grant full scholarships to students.
“In line with my education program, let me discuss about the health aspect.
At present, we have nine (9) district hospitals that have undergone drastic changes – improvement of facilities, beautiful buildings, then we have the machines upgraded, such as the x-ray machines which are now digital and automated blood chem, high quality ultra sound machine, and we have now CT-scan, 2D Echo, and 7 Dialysis machines.
We are still improving, if I became Governor, I will add more to attain 8 district hospitals, one is in the provincial hospital.
Let’s go to the capacity building of students in the Community College. The Community College is funded by the Provincial Government of Sorsogon. We have more than 200 students, 2-year course. We are expanding into 4-year Midwifery course.
My plan is to amend by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, if I became the Governor, the existing ordinance that for every 10 scholars at the state college, we have also for the Community College.
My wish is all students at the Sorsogon Community College are in full scholarships, and it should not be a local economic investment (enterprise) program of the province.
I believe that education must be within the hands of every family, particularly among the poor, and we are sending many to learn.
We will grant these students full scholarships, especially those in the envisioned 4-year course and the existing 2-year course.” [BicolToday.com]
