SORSOGON CITY — The Department of Education (DepEd) offers free teaching materials online through Learning Resource Management and Development System (LRMDS) portal.
The LRMDS is a rich repository of learning, teaching and professional development materials.
Its function is to provide information about the location of resources, either in hard or soft copy and allows a user of the system to access the published and stored materials within the LRMDS repository.
This can be accessed on the website of DepEd or through this link: lrmds.deped.gov.ph .
This portal gives an abundant source of learning/instructional materials, teacher’s guide and modules needed by the teachers in delivering the essential learning to their learners.
Also, one can access information relating to persons who have access to support teaching and learning of local culture through oral traditions, storytelling and indigenous language expertise.
The DepEd uses the power of internet to reach even those in far flung areas, with the necessary materials for the attainment of its vision, which is…
“The provision of adaptive learning resource systems, fully functioning at the region and division levels, effectively developing and distributing adequate and varied learning resources to teachers and learners from both the formal Basic Education and Alternative Learning Systems.”
The LRMDS was designed to support increased distribution and access to learning, teaching and professional development materials at the regional level down to school level of the DepEd.
Its framework development is a continuous process which involves the collaborative work from the school to central office, so that this instructional and learning materials will continue to improve and adapt to the new curriculum, K-12.
The evolving design, development and implementation of LRMDS are crucial to the success implementation of the K-12 Curriculum. The framework also describes to what extent is the required level in the Educational system to further improve the access to teaching resources and professional development materials.
As in succinct, the LRMDS will continue to provide information on quantity and quality, as well as location of textbooks and supplementary materials. Provide access to resources in analogue/digital format and locate resources in hardcopy or softcopy format.
