Friendly youth shot on the leg by stranger in Sorsogon City

SORSOGON CITY – For being courteously friendly to a stranger on his way to eat at a “lugawan” past midnight of Monday, January 18, Archie Discaya Janoba was shot on the left leg by the stranger.

Police in this city reported that the gun-wielding suspect ran away to unknown direction, while the victim, Archie, managed to flee to an uncle’s place living nearby the place of the incident.

According to initial police report, on January 18, 2016 at around 3:50AM, the victim Archie, 22 years old, a resident of Brgy. San Juan (Roro), this city was walking towards the direction of Sorsogon Provincial Hospital, Brgy. Macabog, and upon reaching a dark portion, he saw the suspect walking on the same direction.

Probably out of courtesy, the victim approached the suspect and said “Pre sabay na kita malugaw” (Let’s eat porridge together).

Then, without apparent reason, the suspect suddenly drew a .45 caliber pistol and shot the victim once, hitting him in the left leg.

Wounded, the victim fled towards the residence of his uncle, Danilo Cincua, for help, while the suspect also fled towards unknown direction.

Archie was treated as outpatient at Sorsogon Provincial Hospital.

Elements of Sorsogon CPS conducted scene investigation and were able to recover one (1) fired cartridge case for caliber 45.

Police are conducting follow-up investigation to identify and arrest the suspect. []
