DAET, Camarines Norte (BicolToday.com) – The Liberal Party formally ousted Camarines Norte Governor Edgardo Tallado from it rolls of members after finding him guilty of grossly immoral conduct inimical to the interest of the Liberal Party in violation of the party constitution.
The ouster was an offshoot of the political war of Tallado and Daet Mayor Tito Sarion who filed a counter suit against the governor at the Liberal Party National Headquarters after he was accused by the former of disloyalty to the party, spreading issues and rumors against him and that he is no longer the LP provincial chair of the province and he is supporting a presidential candidate from another party which Sarion denied.
The Daet mayor countered by filing a complaint against Tallado for disloyalty when he received and entertained opposition Senators JV Bautista and Bong Revilla, that his LP constitutional rights was not observed, for immorality and commission of acts inimical to the interest of the party citing the scandal which the governor was involved with another woman other than his wife that went viral in the social network and made worse by the statement of the governors wife that she feared going back to their house for she don’t know what her husband may do to her and the pendency of several criminal and administrative cases filed against the governor filed by various sectors and concerned citizen involving human rights violations and illegal mining operations among others.
The scandal dragged the name and image of the Party and tarnished its good image which its members are trying to maintain was the LP leadership comment.
The national headquarters of the party joined the complaint after receiving their reply and focus on the party’s drive for “Daang Matuwid” saying that “ it is not only serious ion eradicating corruption in the country, it is also determined to maintain leaders with high moral fiber and integrity considering that their constituents look up to them for their leadership and inspiration. The LP can only be as reputable as its members.”
In finding Tallado of grossly immoral act, the LP said that he committed a public uproar which is overarching that the party was not spared by it and dismisses the Tallado’s complaint against Sarion resolving to remove the governor from the LP Membership roll when it issued the final order on June 15 this year which was signed by Josephine Ramirez-Sato, the party director-general, Mel Senen Sarmiento, secretary general of the party, Alfonso Umali, treasure of LP, Jerry Treñas as chair of membership and organizing committee, Edgardo Ereci, political and electoral affairs committee chair and Leonardo Javier an LP member who is the President of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines.
