SORSOGON CITY ( – Business permit processing system started Monday, January 5, 2015 at Sorsogon City Hall lobby to facilitate processing and to cast out bureaucratic bottlenecks.

Called BOSS (Business One Stop Shop), a project by City Mayor Sally Lee to maintain the city more business-friendly, the system is participated by concerned departments involved in permit processing, said Alfonso Tayo, OIC of the business permit department.

The processing is streamlined by the close coordination among offices.

At the frontline is the Business Permits and Licensing Office, in coordination with treasurer’s office, city zoning, city health, environment, PhilHealth, Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), and Social Security System (SSS).

According to Ferdinand Marbella of the business permit section, the set-up involves more movements for documents being processed rather than people moving in filing applications.

BOSS shall end on January 20, but it can be extended by the City government. []
