SORSOGON CITY, 10April2014 (BicolToday.com) — Bicolano student Edick Ayala Nuesca, won 2nd Place in Physics and Astronomy category in the 2014 ARIZONA STATE SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING FAIR held first week of April, 2014.

Nuesca is a junior high school student in Tuba City Unified School
District in Tuba City, Arizona, U.S.A.

This science award is the second feather in Nuesca’s cap. On February 13, 2013, Edick won the Western Navajo Regional Spelling Competition held on Greyhills High School in Tuba City, Arizona.

Edick’s mother is Grace Ayala-Nuesca, who migrated to the U.S. in 2004
together with her family after she was hired to teach in Prince George’s County Public School in Maryland, and in 2010, they transferred in Tuba City, Arizona.

Ayala-Nuesca is a native of Sorsogon and had studied as a working student at Colegio De La Milagrosa (now St. Louise De Marillac College of Sorsogon).

Before they migrated to the U.S., Grace Ayala-Nuesca had taught in San
Benildo Integrated School and Marist School in Marikina City.  Ayala-Nuesca took her Master’s Degree in Religious and Values Education at De La Salle University in Manila.
