Jordanian journalist breaks free from ASG captors

MANILA, 4Dec2013 (PNA) – Jordanian journalist Baker Atyani was freed from the hands of his Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) captors Wednesday evening.

Col. Jose Johriel Cenabre, 2nd Marine Brigade commander, said they retrieved Atyani around 8:30 p.m.

The Al Arabiya News correspondent is now undergoing debriefing with government security forces.

Atyani was abducted by the ASG together with two Filipino crewmen, who were earlier freed by the bandits, in June 2012 in Patikul town, Sulu. (PNA)
