LEGAZPI CITY, 2Oct2013 (PNA) – A retired bank manager was shot dead by an unidentified suspect while he was walking on his way home at about 9:40 p.m., Tuesday, along Molave Street, Washington Drive, here.
Supt. Robert Morico, Legazpi City police chief, identified the victim as Rogelio Naz, 62, married and a resident of the place.
Naz did not reach the Estevez Hospital alive.
Morico said the victim was walking toward his home after he parked his car in his brother’s house when a bonnet-wearing man approached and shot him with a .45-caliber pistol.
Naz sustained bullet wounds in his head and body.
The suspect immediately fled the crime scene.
Morico said Naz had earlier dropped off his wife and son in front of their house before parking his car at his brother’s place.
The Naz family members cannot think of any reason why he would be killed as he had no known enemy.
In another development, suspects riding a motorcycle in tandem shot dead a salesman of the Maxim Enterprises while he was also on his motorcycle at about 4:15 p.m., Tuesday, in Barangay Miaga, Uson, Masbate.
Police identified the victim as Joel Basas, 33, married and resident of Sitio Tabok, Barangay Banadero, Mobo, Masbate.
A police report said Basas was on his way to Masbate City when the two motorcycle riders came close and shot him.
Basas’ vehicle fell into the road, giving his killers a better chance to kill him.
His killers fled towards the direction of Masbate City, according to witnesses.
Basas’ relatives said his cellphone, wallet, backpack and other personal belongings are missing. (PNA)
