MANILA, 27Sept2013 (PNA) – Justice Secretary Leila M. De Lima has designated Assistant Director Medardo G. De Lemos as officer-in-charge (OIC) of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
In Department Order No. 712, it said the OIC shall oversee the day-to-day administration of the operations of the NBI under the direction of the secretary of the Department of Justice.
De Lima said such designation shall be in addition to De Lemos’ existing duties and responsibilities as NBI assistant director.
However, the designation shall not include the power to act on matters involving policy determination, the approval of long-term contracts and transactions, the appointment or dismissal of personnel, and other matters that go beyond acts of mere supervision or administration, said De Lima.
The order takes effect immediately, and shall remain in force until further orders or until a new director of the NBI has been appointed by President Benigno S. Aquino III. (PNA)
