LEGAZPI CITY, 22Sept2013 (PNA) – Fifty of the 200 passengers stranded earlier in various ports of Bicol are still in two piers, according to the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG)in Bicol.
They are in the ports of Pio Duran in Albay and Pasacao Port in Camarines Sur.
These remaining stranded travelers are just waiting for their transport and can already move out anytime, the PCG said.
It, however, still warned sea transports, especially small ones, to be extra careful.
It also warned fishermen not to go out fishing and alerted barangay officials on the danger posed by the bad weather.
Earlier, the PCG-Bicol based here said about 200 passengers were stranded when the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Sciences Administration raised the gale warning in Bicol.
The gale was intensified by the strong storm surge brought typhoon “Odette”.
These affected passengers were in the ports of Pioduran in Albay, Pilar in Sorsogon, Pasacao in Camarines Sur and Bapor and Aroroy in Masbate.
Also stranded were 22 trucks, 12 light vehicles, 3 buses, 13 ships and 16 motorized bancas.(PNA)
