LEGAZPI CITY, 21Sept2013 (PNA) – About 1,000 youth leaders are now attending a youth leadership summit in Tariposo Hall in Barangay Bagalayag, Castilla, Sorsogon, starting Friday up to Sunday.
The activity aims to develop the participants as potential leaders of the country, enrich their knowledge, deepen their responsibility and make them an instrument of peace and development of the society.
The activity is being sponsored by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) in cooperation with the Office of Civil Defense Bicol (OCD) regional office.
OCD Bicol Regional Director Raffy Alejandro, event’s guest speaker, said his office assists all national government agencies and local government units in engaging in this kind of activities.
The OCD, Alejandro added, also gives orientation on disaster risk reduction at climate change initiative issues among the youths as future leaders of the country.
He hoped that the participants will share what they will learn from the summit to their respective communities and make these a part of their daily lives.(PNA)
