CAMP GEN. SIMEON OLA, Legazpi City, 16Sept2013 (PNA) – A 23-year-old woman died and her six-year-old daughter was seriously injured when a motorcycle hit them while crossing the Maharlika Highway in Barangay San Gabriel Pamplona, Camarines Sur, on Sunday morning.
A police report reaching the Philippine National Police regional office here identified the victim who died on the way to the Bicol Medical Center as Elsa Rosela, married, and her injured daughter as Angela, residents of the said barangay.
The report identified the motorcycle driver, who also sustained injuries, as Albert Bulalacao, 20, single and resident of Barangay Caranan, Pasacao, Camarines Sur.
The accident occurred at about 8:50 a.m. while the Rosela and her daughter were crossing the street on their way home, the report said.
The report added that the motorcycle, with Plate No. 5030 – ES, was running at high speed when it hit the two victims who were thrown a few meters on the highway.
Witnesses immediately came to the help of the two victims and the driver and rushed them to the hospital.
Police are now readying charges of reckless imprudence resulting to homicide and serious physical injuries against Bulalacao. (PNA)
