MANILA, 16Sept2013 (PNA) – Senator Ramon ‘Bong’ Revilla Jr. allegedly hoarded the largest amount of pork barrel worth P224.51 million, according to the National Bureau of Investigation on Monday (NBI).
These pork barrel were said to have been obtained through fund transfers via fake NGOs run by businesswoman Janet Napoles or how the NBI would put it “in conspiracy with Napoles”.
Plunder charges were filed against Revilla and two fellow senators namely Sen. Jinggoy Estrada and Sen. Juan Ponce Enrile, who, according to media reports, was rushed to the hospital last Saturday because of hypertension.
Estrada came second to Revilla with the highest pork barrel with P183.79 million and followed by Enrile with P172.83 million
Through his lawyer, Atty. Joel Bodegon, Revilla said that he welcomes the NBI’s filing of the complaint with the Ombudsman.
This would allow him to confront the accusations placed on him, Bodgeon explained.
Revilla also said that he will speak about the matter at the right time and appealed to the public not to judge him as well as other accused senators. (PNA)
