MANILA, 26Aug2013 (PNA) – Despite the threat of rain, anti-pork barrel fund protesters are now starting to arrive at the Rizal Park in Manila Monday morning.
Radio reports said most of those the protesters who arrived early brought umbrellas and wore white shirts as they waited for the event to officially start at 9 a.m.
Vendors, cashing in the occasion, sold anti-pork T-shirts for P250 each.
Participants were also urged to go to a booth where they may sign up to register their protest against pork.
Aside from shirts, ambulant vendors also sold bread, eggs and coffee.
Earlier Monday, PAGASA reiterated its forecast of cloudy skies with rainshowers or thunderstorms to prevail over Metro Manila today.
“Today will be cloudy but we believe there may be some rain,” PAGASA forecaster Manny Mendoza said in a radio interview.
In its extended outlook, PAGASA said the metropolis may also expect temperatures of 24 to 31 degrees Celsius. (PNA)
