Metro Manila still swamped by floods

MANILA, 20Aug2013 (PNA) – Due to continuing heavy rains brought by southwest monsoon enhanced by tropical storm “Maring” that pounded Metro Manila, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Tuesday morning warned motorists that several roads remain flooded as of 10:30 a.m.

According to MMDA still flooded areas are:

Along Quezon City — N. Domingo Gilmore which is not passable to light vehicles; Quezon Avenue Biak na Bato, Knee Deep; SM Centerpoint Westbound, gutter deep; Araneta Maria Clara, waist deep; Araneta Calamba and Amoranto, not passable to light vehicles; and E.Rodriguez/Araneta, knee deep.

Along southern metropolis — Villamor towards Magallanes, thigh deep; SM Sucat, not passable to all vehicles; South Superhighway Magallanes, knee deep; Baclaran–Redemptorist, knee deep; Pascor Drive, knee deep; Osmena–Buendia, waist deep; Roxas Airport, knee deep; Pasong Tamo, thigh deep; MIA Domestic, waist deep; Nichols Sales to Pasong Tamo, knee deep; and Andrews Domestic, chest deep.

Along Manila — Rizal Avenue (Tomas Mapua), tire deep; Osmena (Quirino–A. Linap), knee deep; Quirino L. Guinto, half tire deep; Espana Antipolo, knee deep; Dela Fuente–Maceda, gutter deep; RMB Pureza, above knee deep; Romualdez-Taft, not passable to light vehicles; Bonifacio Drive-Roxas Katigbak, not passable to light vehicles; Manila City Hall, waist deep; Quirino P. Dilao, gutter deep; F. Manalo Blumentritt, not passable to all vehicles; Espana Lacson, gutter deep; Roxas Aristocrat, gutter deep; Quirino Extension UN, waist deep and España San Diego, 35 inches.
