935 people evacuated in Bicol

MANILA, 12Aug2013 (PNA) – The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on Monday announced that 224 families or 935 people have been evacuated to safer ground in Bicol in wake of the inclement weather brought by Typhoon “Labuyo”.

The 935 were brought to San Lorenzo Academy, La Medella Elementary School and Day Care Center of La Medella in Iriga City Albay; and Mercedes Central Elementary School in Mercedes town, Camarines Norte.

All of the above-mentioned localities are coastal towns. (PNA)
