LEGAZPI CITY, 26July2013 (PNA) – Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) arrested two notorious drug pushers and confiscated from them some P275,000 worth of suspected shabu, a PDEA report Friday said.
PDEA Bicol Director Archie Grande identified the suspects as Josemari Manuel, 26, a resident of Barangay Balaguer in Daraga town, and Lourdes Isip, 49, of Barangay Pigcale in this city.
Grande said in a press statement that a confidential informant had reported the illegal drug activities of the suspects earlier.
After validating the information and surveillance operations, elements of the PDEA Regional Office V Regional Special Enforcement Team conducted a buy-bust operation at around 9:30 p.m., Thursday, at the PNB parking lot at the corner of Rizal Extension St. and Gov. Forbes St., in Barangay Baybay, Legazpi City, which led to the arrest of the suspects and the confiscation from them of about 50 grams of suspected shabu.
Grande said the suspects are facing charges for violation of Section 5 of Article II of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
PDEA also reported having formally charged last week two notorious drug pushers following their arrests in a buy-bust operation that also resulted in the confiscation from their possession of some 50 grams of shabu with estimated street value of P210,000.
Charged were Panaudan Cosain Macarimbang, alias Manong Boy and Abu, 47, and Jonah Rose Abraham Jaraba, alias Jona, 24, both residents of Sultan Esmael, Dasmariñas, Cavite.(PNA)
