LEGAZPI CITY (15-May-2103) – The Legazpi City Board of Canvassers proclaimed engineer Noel E. Rosal as the elected city mayor and incumbent Vice Mayor Vitorrio “Vitoy” Roces as reelected.
The board, headed by election officer Maria Phenny Joan Batalla with School Divisions Superintendent Dr. Cesar Medina and City Auditor Josephina T. Cay as members, proclaimed the winners at exactly 4:30 p.m. May 14.
Rosal and Roces, who both ran unopposed, garnered 67,844 and 59,494 votes, respectively.
Rosal has served as a barangay councilor–which started his political career, then barangay chair, city councilor for three consecutive terms and mayor, also for three consecutive terms, from 2001 until 2010.
Roces is the youngest son of former city mayor and National Police Commission member, the late Imelda C. Roces.
He was first elected as city councilor in 2007 and became vice mayor in 2010.
Proclaimed city councilors were Vincent Baltazar III, who got the votes of 45,911; Gregorio Fernand Imperial, 39,494 votes; Ismael Buban III, 38,409; Alan Rañola, 37,953; Lilian Ramirez, 36,409; Melissa Abadeza, 35,931; Rolly Rosal, 35,170; Alex Sy, 33,038; Lilibeth Muñoz Dimaculangan, 31,613; and Chito Baldo, 30,631.
