LEGAZPI CITY, 9-May-2013 (PNA) – The Thai consul in Manila arrived in this city at 10:00 a.m. Thursday to visit their three rescued nationals caught by Mayon’s explosion on Tuesday.
They were among the 27 climbers who went up the volcano.
Thai Consul Rooge Thammongkol met with Office of Civil Defense(OCD)Regional Director Raffy Alejandro to discuss the rescue operation efforts for the Thai nationals.
Thammongkol proceeded to the Bicol Regional Training and Teaching Hospital(BRTTH)to see the conditions of Thai survivors Nithi Ruangpisit, Tanut Ruchipiyrak and Udom Kiap.
Another Thai survivor, Boonchai Jattupornong, 35, was rescued on Wednesday but is still being brought down from the volcano.
Meanwhile, the Provincial Social Welfare Development Office, Albay Public Safety Emergency Management Office and the Provincial Health Office of Albay are now conducting a psychosocial therapy for the family of Jerome Berin, the Filipino tour guide included in the five casualties of the Mayon Volcano explosion.
Berin’s body was brought down to Camp 1 by rescuing relatives and friends at about 4:00 a.m., Thursday, and from there, it was picked up by a helicopter and airlifted to Legazpi City at about 7:00 a.m.(PNA)
