SORSOGON CITY, 26-April-2013 (BicolToday.com) – Death of congressional candidate Jose Solis did not change the political picture in Sorsogon’s 2nd district, and that re-electionist Congressman Ding Ramos has been slugging it out with candidate Guillermo de Castro, former Bulan mayor, who is considered as the more tough opponent than Solis.

Aside from de Castro, Dra. Sappho Gillego Ong is also a contender for the House seat, thus making it a three-cornered fight, BicolToday.com learned Wednesday.

“The late Solis had never been a serious threat to Ramos, on the reason that he (Solis) lacked the support from the local mayors,” an observer informed the online news group.

The observer said the fight has been between Ramos, De Castro and Ong.

He corrected the news reported Wednesday morning by BicolToday.com about Solis’ death and the vacuum he left in the political arena which was reported earlier that only Ramos and de Castro are figured in a two-corner fight.

Solis died early Tuesday morning in a hospital due to complications after he underwent heart bypass operation two years ago. [BicolToday.com]
