MANILA (8-Jan-2013/PNA) – A low pressure area hovering over Mindanao and affecting Eastern Visayas and Bicol has prompted two airlines to cancel eight more domestic flights Tuesday, according to the Dept. of Transportation and Communication.
Based on the DOTC’s Twitter account, Cebu Pacific cancelled its three round-trip flights from Manila to Legaspi, General Santos City and Caticlan.
The cancelled Cebu Pacific flights include 5J 327-328 Manila-Legaspi, 5J 995-996 Manila-General Santos and 5J 905-906 Manila-Caticlan.
Zest Airways also cancelled its round-trip flights Z2 220-221 Manila to Legazpi due to bad weather.
Early Tuesday, Cebu Pacific Airlines cancelled its round-trip domestic flights 5J 521-522 from Manila to Naga City.
Based on latest weather forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Service said the LPA is bringing heavy rains in Mindanao, Eastern Visayas and the Bicol region.
Last week, several airlines cancelled more than 10 domestic flights as a tropical storm hit some parts of Mindanao and Visayas. (PNA)
