LEGAZPI CITY (12-Nov-2012/PNA) – Three people died and another was hurt when their car rammed a concrete post Sunday night along the Maharlika Hihgway in Barangay Rawis here, an officer of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Albay said.
Killed were Voltaire Salcedo, 30; Andrew Salcedo, 18; both residents of Barangay Dita; and Jhunnie Borromeo, 17, of Barangay 18 (Cabangan); also in this city.
PO2 Michelle Morales of the PNP Albay Public Information Office (PIO) said on Monday that lone survivor Nico Paje, 17, also of Barangay Rawis, is still being treated at the Bicol Regional Training and Teaching Hospital (BRTTH) here.
The accident occurred around 11:00 p.m. Sunday when the Ford Lynx sedan driven by Voltaire apparently lost control and rammed a concrete post of Digitel in Barangay Rawis, about three kilometers from the city proper.
Morales said a rescue team from the police and firemen reported the car in total wreck, and have to use iron cutting equipment to retrieve the bodies of the victims.
The victims were rushed to the BRTTH but the three were declared dead on arrival.
The bodies of the victims were brought to the Nuestra Senora de Salvacion here for autopsy. (PNA)
