LEGAZPI CITY (29-Oct-2012/PNA) – In the licensure examinations for various courses given this year by the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC) from January until this month, Bicol University has produced at least eight board topnotchers.
The latest was this month’s Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Board Examinations where 61 of the 63 examinees from BU passed or at 96.83 percent passing rate and one of them, Jannine Czarina Bella Torralba, BU’s Outstanding University Graduate of 2012 placed 7th with a 92.71 percent rating.
The passing rate and Torralba’s belonging to the top ten passers earned for BU the title as 2nd Top Performing School for CPA Board 2012 next to the University of the Philippines Diliman campus.
In late last month’s Mechanical Engineer Licensure Examination, 41 out of 50 board takers from BU passed the examinations with two of them landing in the top ten: Darylle Consulta Dacillo – 94.35 percent (second place) and Emmanuel Arboleda Garcia — 92.75 percent (Tenth place).
BU fresh graduates also bagged the first and second places in the top ten board passers of the 2012 Electrical Engineering Licensure Examinations; Bernard Bandojo Alzaga and Wilfredo Lignes Mata Jr., while 47 others passed the same examinations.
Three other BU engineering students; Arianna Bañega, Oliver John Borazon and Marcial Golingco placed 3rd, 5th and 8th respectively, in the Registered Master Electrician’s Board Examination last September 10. Twenty three (23) others are new Registered Master Electricians. (PNA)
