LEGAZPI CITY (19-Sept-2012/PNA) – A former Sorsogon fire chief was shot by unidentified gunmen Tuesday night at his residence in Bibincahan, Sorsogon City, police said Wednesday.
Bureau of Fire and Protection Chief Insp. Renato Marcial, 42, survived the attack but was injured in the abdomen when attackers barged into his house, Police Supt. Renato Bataller, PNP Bicol spokesperson, said.
Physicians at the Sorsogon Provincial Hospital declared Marcial already out of danger.
Police are still trying to determine the motive for the shooting.
Marcial, a native of Sorsogon City, was the former fire chief of Sorsogon and is at present assigned at the BFP National Capital Region.
Police said he was visiting his family at the time of attack.(PNA)
