UPDATE: LEGAZPI CITY (21-Aug-2012/PNA) – A helicopter of the Philippine Navy helping in the search and retrieval operations for Interior and Local Government Secretary Jesse Robredo and the two pilots was forced to do an emergency landing at Donsol waters near Barangay Sta. Cruz in Donsol, Sorsogon around 10:30 a.m. due to an engine trouble.

On board the helicopter are four Navy personnel and the photographer of GMA-Online, Danny Pata. They were not hurt in the accident, said Navy Southern Luzon Command Public Affairs spokesman Lt. Darwin Nieva.

Sec. Robredo was on board a small plane that crashed into the sea in Masbate on Saturday afternoon. With him were the two pilots and his aide, Senior Inspector June Paolo Abrazado, who was the lone survivor in the accident.

On Tuesday morning, the body of the secretary was recovered from the plane wreckage. Members of his family locked themselves up inside a room at the house’s second floor upon receiving the news.

Meanwhile, supporters of Sec. Robredo continue to troop to their residence in Naga City, which prompted the police to close to traffic that portion of Bulusan St. in Barangay Dayangdang. (PNA)
