Albay parishes offer masses for Robredo’s safety

LEGAZPI CITY (19-Aug-12/PNA) – Simultaneous masses were offered in Naga City for the safe return of Sec. Jessie Rodredo from Saturday’s incidents. Masses were held at Naga Metropolitan Cathedral, Immaculate Parish Church and San Francisco Church in Naga.

Supporters are still coming at Robredo’s residence, anticipating positive development from the on going search and rescue operation in Masbate.

DSWD Secretary Dinky Soliman, who is now at the residence of Robredo and has spoken with lawyer Leni Robredo, the secretary’s wife.

One Huey helicopter and three PZL Sokols have been hoovering over Masbate Bay in an effort to locate the downed Piper Seneca plane that carried Robredo and the two pilots.

Two additional Hueys based in Lucena City are on its way to Masbate to augment the search and rescue operations. A C-130 is in Masbate airport on stand-by.

All the 4-p.m. Sunday masses in the parishes of Albay are being dedicated by the province for the safety the cabinet official, the comfort of his family, the fortitude of the rescuers and the peace of “an entire nation in anguish” in this period of uncertainty.

“I ask every Albayano to pray for that miracle for Jesse Robredo and to storm the gates of heaven so every angel would descend to protect him, Albay Governor Jose Sarte Salceda said.(PNA)
