School principal gunned down in Sorsogon City

SORSOGON CITY (26-June-2012/PNA) – Unidentified men gunned down an elementary school principal in Bacon District, Sorsogon City, Sorsogon Monday night.

Supt. Renato Bataller, Bicol Provincial Police Office spokesperson, identified the fatality as Romeo Diamsen, 40, principal of the San Juan Elementary School and a resident of Barangay Macabog, Bacon District.

Bataller said Diamsen was attending an alumni gathering at the school when gunned down at about 9:20 p.m. Monday.

The gunmen barged inside and shot Diamsen repeatedly, hitting the latter in the head, stomach, and left thigh, wounding the victim critically.

Bataller said that the victim died while undergoing treatment at the Sorsogon Provincial Hospital. (PNA)
