Throughout the stretch of months preparing and planning AdCongress22, she was omnipresent. Naturally, as Over-all Chair of the event, Sandy Prieto-Romualdez had to have a finger on everything. A mere week to Opening Day, she sat with the ExCom at Parmigiana, Resorts World for the last meeting to thresh out the remaining quirks.
A gargantuan task, indeed, for the petite President and CEO of the Philippine Daily Inquirer. Nevertheless, with a full posse of the country’s veteran players in advertising, marketing and media to back her up, it’s all systems go for AdBoard’s premier event from November 16 to 19 at the CWC at CamSur.
At AdCongress22’s initial launch last May, Prieto-Romualdez described, “passion, perfection and patience” as the three P’s of commitment behind the Ad Congress. Adding, “the pursuit of excellence – personally and professionally,” as the goal that drives the industry people to offer their services to the event.
Presiding at the last ExCom, going through all the Committee reports, the Over-all Chair is surely ready for the big event. As Merlee Jayme, Creative Committee Chair, reported a healthy showing for the first-ever online Araw submission and judging, the Over-all Chair was all smiles. That’s what a bottom line in the black does, usually.
One more reason to be happy: the Souvenir Planner. This event’s delegate souvenir is no ordinary booklet. It is a record of all things Ad Congress, plus a diary-planner for 2012. “I congratulate the PR Committee for extending the lifespan of the Ad Congress through this planner. This is another first for AdCongress22,” Prieto-Romualdez said.
The Souvenir Planner is under the PR and Publicity Committee headed by Miguel Belmonte, President and CEO of The Philippine Star. The pioneer planner is under the Sub-Committee on Souvenir Program headed by Petron Head of Public Affairs, Charmaine Canillas.
At the onset, Prieto-Romualdez revealed, “I am 50% excited and 50% harassed!” Ticking the hours to CamSur, she can undoubtedly play around with the ratio and add ‘excited’ to the mix.
