SORSOGON CITY (January 11, 2011) – Four towns in the province of Sorsogon are now affected by continuous rains.
In an initial report by Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (PDDRMC) the municipalities of Juban, Magallanes, Bulan and Matnog are now heavily affected by floods due to heavy rains since Thursday.
About 1500 families are evacuated in the said towns.
In a radio interview, Governor Raul Lee directed all municipal disaster councils to make all precautionary measures in order to avoid any casualties.
“Ang mga nakatira malapit sa ilog ay dapat nang lumikas upang maiwasan ang anu mang sakuna”, Lee said.
The provincial government is now distributing assistance to evacuees. (BICOLTODAY.com)
