CAMARINES SUR – The rebel group in Bicol region commemorates the 42nd founding anniversary of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) last Sunday.
In an e-mail released by Marco Valbuena, CPP Media Officer, said the various guerilla front in the region are celebrating the occasion despite of heavy rains.
Several thousand people joined celebrations in a what was described as “one of the biggest celebrations of the revolutionary victories of the Filipino people exhibiting the continuing growth of the revolutionary movement led by the CPP.”
The occasion also served as an opportunity for Red fighters to be joined by their families.
According to the CPP, scores of other smaller assemblies were carried out in guerrilla fronts all over the country, as well as in factories, schools, offices, private homes and communities in cities and town centers.
In a recent radio interview with Army Captain Edgar Obieneta, Civil Military Operations Officers of the 49th Infantry Battalion based in Sorsogon Province said that there is no any untoward incident or violation in relation with the implementation of bilateral ceasefire of the GRP and NDFP. He also said that they are in the standby mode in case there were reports of uncertainties in their area of responsibility.
Meanwhile, Celso Minguez Command forwarded to the local media the statement of Luis G. Jalandoni, Chairperson of the Negotiating Panel, National Democratic Front of the Philippines. Jalandoni greeted his comrades, friends and guests in the celebration of 42nd anniversary of the CPP.
“Kasama ninyong lahat, ginugunita namin ang mga martir at bayani na nag-alay ng kanilang buhay para sa rebolusynaryong kilusan at sambayanan. Ang buhay na kanilang inialay ay nagbibigay lakas sa pagsulong ng ating rebolusyonaryong pakikibaka”, Jalandoni said.
