Naga City anti-drug agents seize shabu worth Php18-M from 2 Nigerians, Filipina “Go-Between”

CITY OF NAGA, Bicol Region — Two Nigerians were arrested on Easter Sunday in separate anti-drug operations by Naga City Police and PDEA-Camarines Sur in this city.

At about 2:00 early morning of Easter Sunday, arrested was Azubuike Obiaghawa Onwigbulo, 32, a businessman from Angeles City, Pampanga.

In the buy-bust, Onwigbulo was frisked of about 200 grams of shabu with estimated street value of Php 1.3 million, and follow-up body search, another 2.2 kilogram of shabu worth about Php16 million were seized from him.
Prior to Onwigbulo’s arrest, PNP and PDEA operatives seized Mbaneto Sopuluchukwu, 22, in a buy-bust at Evangelista St., Brgy. Dinaga, this city at about 10:30 evening of Black Saturday, April 20.

Confiscated from Sopuluchukwu are 100-grams of shabu, worth about Php 680,000.

Police said Sopuluchukwu falsely identified himself as Herman Kurt Phillip with address at Acacia Estate Manila Condominium, Taguig City.

Also arrested by police is the ‘mediator or go between’ of Sopuluchukwu in drug transactions, identified as Judith Camacho Balaquiao, 46, of Brgy. San Jose, Bombon, Camarines Sur.

Police are investigating if the two Nigerians are involved in an African drug syndicate. []
