Masbate police sieze more than 200 firearms under ‘Oplan Katok’ and ‘Oplan Sita, starting January

MASBATE CITY, Masbate Province – About 293 loose firearms were seized by Masbate police after implementing Oplan Katok and Oplan Sita in the entire province, starting January this year up to the present.

127 of these firearms were surrendered in various police stations when Oplan Katok started, 21 firearms recovered under ‘Bilang Boga,’ 21 more seized from checkpoints, 19 various firearms recovered under various respond/visibility/warrant of arrest under Oplan Sita, 22 seized under search warrants, and 83 assorted firearms from “surrendering members” of the rebel group, NPA.

The firearms were shown to visiting Police top official, PNP Chief PGen Oscar Albayalde recently.

Albayalde has been visiting police commands before the start of the Holy Week to ensure police readiness under Oplan SUMVAc 2019. [BicolToday.com]
