6 NPA fighters killed in Tinambac, CamSur firefight

TINAMBAC, Camarines Sur – Soldiers of 83rd Infantry Batallion clashed with guerrillas of New Peoples Army (NPA) at Barangay Lupi, this town, killing six (6) NPA fighters.

The firefight happened Wednesday , January 30, at about 6 in the morning.

According to Philippine Army initial report, the firefight lasted about 20 minutes.

6 NPA fireghters died in the clash.

Army troops seized four M-1 rifles, 1 grenade launcher and subversive documents.

While army troops were in pursuit operation in Tinambac, reinforcement troops were rushed toward Goa adjacent town, with reports other NPA men have retreated toward Goa. [BicolToday.com]
