6 prime suspects in Batocabe-Diaz killing under police custody: alleged mastermind Daraga Mayor Baldo still free

DARAGA, Albay Province — Six prime suspects in the killing of lawmaker Rodel Batocabe and his police escort are now in police custody, while the alleged mastermind Daraga Mayor Carlwyn Baldo has not yet turned himself up before the police.

Meanwhile, a key witness to the conspiracy is also now in police custody.

PNP Chief, Director General Oscar D Albayalde, bared this latest report on surrender of Rolando Arimado alias RR in Masbate at 7:00 AM Saturday; and Danilo Muella alias Manoy Dan at past midnight.

Aside from Arimado and Muella, four other prime suspects are now in police custody, they are, Christopher Naval alias Tuping, Emmanuel Rosello alias Boboy, Henry Yuzon alias Romel, and Jaywin Babor alias Gie.

A key witness, Emanuel Bonita Judevar, has given investigators relevant information regarding the case. from planning to execution stages.

Albayalde tagged as mastermind Daraga Mayor Carlwyn Baldo, who allegedly contracted the services of the gunmen in September 2018 to assassinate Batocabe.

According to Albayalde, Arimado was shuttled to Bicol mainland this morning after his surrender in Masbate island.

He was taken in custody under heavy guard by operatives of Albay and Masbate Police Provincial Office after negotiations thru his wife and son.

“This latest development is expected to complete the puzzle in uncovering the truth behind this double murder and multiple frustrated murder case.” the PNP Chief said.

Arimado, a rebel-returnee was tagged as look-out and back-up gunman in the assassination of Ako Bicol Partylist Representative Batocabe and his security escort, SPO2 Orlando Diaz in Barangay Burgos, Daraga, Albay on December 22, 2018.

Muella, another trusted security aide of Daraga Mayor Carlwyn Baldo surrendered to Regional Intelligence Office 5 at 1:00AM Saturday.

He was identified as the suspect who purchased two cal.45 pistols used in the murder. [BicolToday.com]
