CITY of NAGA, Bicol Region — Revamp of the police unit in this city may cleanse the city image as “hotbed of shabu” as described by President Duterte when he was sniping at Vice-President Leni Robredo.

Duterte has earlier made hurting remarks on the city, Robredo’s hometown, and has offended proud Naguenos and city government officials led by Mayor John Bongat.

Senior Supt. Felix N. Servita, Jr., the new officer-in-charge of the Naga City Police Office, has vowed to do his job professionally.

Servita, who hails from Taguig, Metro Manila, is former Director of Catanduanes Provincial Police Office.

He replaced Senior Supt. Jonathan Panganiban, who is now assigned at Camp Simeon Ola in Legazpi City.

“Relief and reassignment is a command prerogative and is very normal in the police organization,” Servita told the press.

Reports say Servita is former regional chief of Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Socsargen and assigned in police offices of Masbate and Camarines Sur. He graduated in 1994 from the Philippine National Police Academy.

“What I can promise you is that I will be very professional, and coordinate with stakeholders of peace and order to serve and protect Naga City,” he said. [BicolToday.com]
