Lewis Land, Inc. assures stakeholders of Lewis College of continuity to operate

By Felix ‘Boy’ Espineda, Jr.

SORSOGON CITY – Clearing the speculations and apprehensions of Lewis College stakeholders, Lewis Land, Inc. Vice-President and Corporate Secretary Imelda Nicolas in a press statement said that the Lewis College remains steadfast in its commitment to provide high-quality education and shall continue to operate its ordinary course of business.

The statement came after Bicol Today posted as a banner story on July 31, 2018 the order of RTC Branch 52 Judge Maximino Ables to the party defendants either to deliver possession, vacate, nullifying the foreclosure, the mortgage entered into, the writ of possession in favor of China Banking Corporation and all proceedings thereto and the absolute sale between China Bank and Lewis Land.

Quoting the statement, Ms. Nicolas said that” the issues pending before the appropriate court are currently being handled by an experienced and dedicated legal team. In the meantime, the same would not affect, in any way the operation of The Lewis College.” Adding that the college remains firm and committed to providing the Sorsogon province/Bicol region with a quality education at a low cost that is accessible to all students who are aspiring to be productive members of society.

Observing the proper handling of the issue and that of the sub-judice rule, Lewis Land, Inc. prefers not to pre-judge the issue, influencing the court nor to obstruct the administration of justice, however, the statement revealed that it is now with the appellate court.

In a talk with key Lewis College personnel, they believed that the patronage of the college by its community will remain strong. [BicolToday.com]
