SORSOGON CITY – The private company Prime Water Resources Corporation in Sorsogon City is seeking to increase water rate to P51.55 per ten cubic meter.

In a public hearing, the company proposes water rate hike due to upcoming rehabilitation projects to be done in the coming years.

The present water rate is P191.00 per 10 cubic meters, and they are planning to jack up to P242.55 this coming August 2018.

According to officials of Prime Water, this increase is based on their technical study.

The company is partnered with Sorsogon City Water District upon its privatization 3 years ago and has promised to improve its services, but nothing has changed, said concessionaires.

In a report, the company has promised to improve the facilities of then SCWD upon taking over the operation of the said water district.

The failure of the company (Prime Water) and SCWD was brought out during the public hearing, like dirty water coming out from the line services, the absence of water services in some areas.

This time, they are asking as that they are going to increase its rates, but was met opposition from sectors which demanded that ayusin muna nila ang kanilang serbisyo, mula na maisapribado ang Sorsogon City Water District sa Prime Water wala namang pagbabago.

Failure of Public Hearing

During the so-called public hearing, only a few consumers attended but outnumbered by the employees coming from Prime Water and Sorsogon Water District.

It means their information dissemination was very low, the “style” of Engr. Ronaldo Barboño who preferred that only a few attend the public hearing, said a concessionaire who requested anonymity.

The person said Engr. Barboño has caused and started all these problems in the Sorsogon City Water District and he should be removed.

You cannot trust Barboño, he is telling half-truth and half lies, the source added.

But according to Barboño, they disseminated the scheduled public hearing on water rate increase for the last 15 days. “Siguro pamati ninda okey naman, dai na lang kami ma-attend. Kun talagang may concern an tawo mapakadi diba. Watch the related video.

The audience did not buy the explanation of Engr. Barboño, instead they should conduct the public hearing in all barangays that they are servicing in order to understand fully their planned water increase.

Dios Mabalos, Sallie Garcia, sa saindong comentario. Baku naiintidihan kan mga Herodes sa Sorsogon City na bag-o ninda malinisan an ciudad sagkud mga barangay, kaipuhan din gamiton an malinis na tubig. Kun dugi an tubig, di dugi din an resulta. Grabe talaga an tragedia sa Sorsogon — kasi dakul na mga botante an nagbenta kan boto ninda. An pagtaas ng precio ng tubig sagkud an pagbawas kan calidad kan tubig iyo an resulta ng idoma, “Lagay is my guy.” Sabi ko nga kan kampanya ko para gobernador kan election noong May 9, 2016, ang ginigibo kan mga Herodes sa Sorsogon iyo ang pagbag-o kan pangaran kan “Sorsogon Water District.” Ginibo ninda na privado na kumpanya at an bag-ong pangaran amu daw an “Sorsogon Waterworse District.” 🙂 🙂
