Sorsogon SP building inaugurated

SORSOGON CITY, 14March2018 — In a simple ceremony headed by Vice Governor Ma. Ester E. Hamor, the new sangguniang panlalawigan building was inaugurated, Monday.

Invited guests were Senator Francis G. Escudero, the representatives of the two districts of Sorsogon, Evelina Escudero and Deogracias Ramos and Governor Robert Lee Rodrigueza, and various government and private offices.

The vice governor said in her short but very meaningful speech that the new sanggunian building signifies the aspiration of the people of Sorsogon where their expectations would see realization through relevant legislative socio-economic measures.

“We are just temporary occupants and caretakers of this government building. Huwag po kayo magalala gagawin naming lahat para makatulong sa inyo” the vice governor said. The vice governor in essence wanted to tell the people of Sorsogon that the money used in the building came from the people through the taxes they pay, and it is the obligation of the government officials with whom the sovereignty of the people they entrusted to make their social and economic conditions improved.

Speaking in behalf of the provincial board, the vice governor thanked former Governor Raul R. Lee who made possible the initial funding for the construction of the building. She also expressed her deep gratitude to Senator Francis Escudero for providing the additional funds that completed the building. Also she expressed her thanks to Governor Robert Lee Rodrigueza for appropriating the funds for furniture and fixtures. []
