CASIGURAN, Sorsogon – About 300 informal settlers in this town shall be provided houses by the local government, but they have to pay a minimal amount on a monthly basis to fully own them.

“The housing project is not a dole-out, but an opportunity to own a house whom the beneficiary family must pay a minimum amount monthly until the house is paid for,” said Mayor Edwin “Boboy” Hamor.

Barangays Central, Cawit, Lungib, Tulay at Somal-ot are the first 5 coastal villages chosen for housing sites.

As planned, the house is 5 x 7 meters with a room, kitchen, and toilet.

Mayor Hamor said the house shall provide a decent living for the family whom the children will be proud of.

The housing project is targeted to begin in the first quarter of the next year 2018 which the Mayor has instructed the engineering office to expedite the plans. [BicolToday.com]
