Mild earthquake jolts Legazpi City

LEGAZPI CITY — A 2.6 magnitude earthquake of tectonic origin was recorded in this city around 3:01 p.m. Tuesday, the Phillippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.

Phivolcs bulletin said the quake was located at 15 kilometers north, 21 degrees west of this city with a depth of 14 kilometers.

No damage was reported although the tremor was felt in the city proper and neighboring towns of Daraga, Camalig, and Sto. Domingo.

At around 7:34 p.m. on Saturday, a 3.2-magnitude earthquake of tectonic origin also hit Sto. Domingo town. It was followed by a 2.4-magnitude quake in this city around 9:20 p.m. and another of 2.7 magnitude around 9:33 p.m.

No damage to public and private infrastructure was reported. (PNA)
