LEGAZPI CITY, 13Oct2017 — More than 2,000 students and Catholic parishioners of the Diocese of Legazpi City marched and braved the sudden rains to show support for the nationwide call to “STOP THE KILLINGS, START THE HEALING”.

Armed with rosaries and umbrellas, groups from the Daraga town parish and Legazpi Catholic schools marched from their points of origin for about three kilometers going to Albay Cathedral at around 3:00 PM. From start to finish, students recited the mysteries of the Holy Rosary while walking.

Bishop of the Diocese, Joel Z. Baylon has earlier sent an open letter to President Duterte to stop the killings under “war on drugs” solutions of the present administration. Said letter, however, was ignored hence another pastoral letter was made for every parish which finally hatched the March & Prayer Rally.

“We must stop the literal bleeding of our nation”; Killings in any manner should not be accepted as normal”; “Our people are being killed like a cockroach”; “We are not against the government”: These are the significant quotations from every impromptu speaker in the rally following the march.
