“Contractual” personnel 4 months unpaid salaries at Sorsogon Provincial Hospital

Dr. Fernando B. Duran Sr. Memorial Hospital, or commonly known as Sorsogon Provincial Hospital.

SORSOGON CITY – A contractual employee of the government provincial hospital here is airing his plight regarding their salaries that were not paid to them in the last 4 months, BicolToday.com was informed Thursday.

Refusing to be named, the contractual is working at Dr. Fernando B. Duran Sr. Memorial Hospital, or commonly known as Sorsogon Provincial Hospital.

The contractual said they found out the 4-month salary delay was caused by the slowness of a new I.T. who was tasked to computerize their PDS (Personal Data Sheet).

According to the contractual, what made the situation worse was that the I.T., a new graduate, is the son/daughter of the Human Resources head, and being groomed for permanency status in employment owing to their closeness to incumbent Governor Bobet Lee.

“It is very unfair among “contractual’s” that we are being used for so much hard work, more overtime without pay, while the permanent employees enjoy all benefits including paid overtime works,” said the contractual.

The contractual hopes reforms will be implemented at the hospital and that they should receive their wages on time. [BicolToday.com]
