Father hacks son in Sorsogon City; son survives, ‘tatay’ flees

SORSOGON CITY (BicolToday.com) – A father hacked his son on the forehead and fled after the incident, and owing to luck, the victim survived after he was brought to the hospital.

Police investigators said the cause of the hacking was misunderstanding when the father (suspect) tried to pacify his son (victim) who was intoxicated with liquor and causing public scandal in the neighborhood.

Police said the hacking incident happened on Saturday night (May 13, 2017) at Barangay Bato, Bacon District, Sorsogon City wherein the victim, Leo Desacula Operio, 32 years old, a farmer was intoxicated with liquor and started creating alarm and public scandal.

His father, Felipe V. Operio, tried to pacify his drunk son however, an altercation erupted between the two which caused the father to go home and got a bladed weapon. Felipe went back to the site and allegedly hit his son on the forehead.

The older Operio fled after the incident, while the younger Operio was brought to BRTTH in Daraga, Albay for medical treatment.

Police traced the motive as due to misunderstanding. [BicolToday.com]
