SORSOGON CITY, 10Mar2017 (BicolToday.com) – The small circle of Justice personnel here lauded the contractor, who renovated the Bulwagan ng Katarungan building, for doing more and walking the extra mile by improving the building’s other fixtures and amenities, which are no longer covered by the contract, at no additional cost to the government.
After finishing the infra works as contracted, the contractor did not end there, his firm worked on other reparable fixtures and amenities to complement the infra works already done on the building.
The contractor, through Mr. Edwin Hamor and Mrs. Ester Hamor, finished the works on time, and the building inaugurated on March 3, 2017.
Fiat Justitia Ruant Coeli wrote in his Facebook post: ” But before that inauguration, after the infra works were done in the main building, and seeing the dire need for storage cabinets for records, evidences, and office supplies; office division walls, and air-conditioning units, the contractor performed additional fabrication of such in all offices and courtrooms.”
Coeli detailed farther in his FB post: “In the new East Wing, the contractor also performed additional works for 13 office/investigation cubicles, evidence security room, library room, 5 restrooms; installed 14 glass/aluminum safety panels; and 10 units split-type aircon units.”
Coeli reported: “In addition still, the atrium and the front grounds were renovated and landscaped. The side parking areas were concreted.”
In its finished state, the Bulwagan ng Katarungan has become a majestic, imposing and iconic landmark in our province, wrote Coeli.
Looking back, the Bulwagan ng Katarungan building was typhoon-damaged and was funded a total of 21 million pesos.
Php15 million was sourced by Senator Chiz Escudero, for the “repairs/ renovations/remodelling of the grossly dilapidated and typhoon-damaged 29-year old building,” and additional Php 6 million for the construction of two-storey, 300 sq. m, all concrete East Wing which is now the Provincial Prosecution Office.
The Bulwagan ng Katarungan houses 7 courtrooms with its 7 offices; 6 DOJ agency offices; IBP Chapter office, Supreme Court Mediation Office, 26 restrooms and 4 bodegas. [BicolToday.com]
