Casiguran local government ₱5 million worth of school needs subsidy to students

CASIGURAN, Sorsogon, 10Mar2017 ( — Mayor Edwin “Boboy” Hamor allocated Php 5 million to beef up the town’s education program to help students, from kindergarten to senior high school.

The program, dubbed as “OO Para sa Kaakian”, covers the provision of each public school student of three (3) sets of T-shirts,bags, caps, umbrellas,and other items.

Every week, each student shall receive bread and milk, to be known as “Pan de OO”.

To beef up the demand for bread, the Casiguran local government shall set up a bakery under supervision by the local nutrition office.

The education support program shall start June 2017, this was revealed by Mayor Hamor to 250 school heads who attended the just-concluded 2nd Division Management Committee meeting.

The Mayor places the student support assistance as a flagship program and has earmarked the Php 5 million to fund the students’ needs.

During the meeting, he requested the head teachers to support the program and promised to provide incentives to deserving students and teachers under the program. []
