MEGA bus firm harasses journalist on accident coverage in Sorsogon

SORSOGON CITY, 18Aug2015 (BicolToday.com) – Already tainted by blood of injured and dead passengers, the MEGA bus company has the arrogance of preventing media from going nearer to take photo shots of its bus damaged by accident Sunday.

The MEGA bus was plying the Manila-Samar route when it hit two coconut trees then fell, plowed into, and rolled over a rice paddy beside the national highway in Monbon, Irosin, Sorsogon.

Afraid of nosy reporters, MEGA bus company trying to isolate the ill-fated bus from public scrutiny, is now under public suspicion that the bus was “out-of-line”, or not covered by proper franchise.

MEGA bus firm owners may be charged in court it they have been fielding non-registered busses for long-distance trips.

On-site report said earlier the bus driver was sleepy during the accident.

The accident caused the death of one passenger and several passengers injured. (See related news article . . . )

Don Gloriane, news contributor of GMA Network and online BicolToday.com, was harassed Sunday by an employee of MEGA bus company when he was prevented to go nearer the damaged bus to take closer photos.

Gloriane tried three (3) times to get nearer the overturned bus stuck on the rice paddy, but he was stopped in hostile manner by the employee acting on orders from MEGA Company. [BicolToday.com]
